Trim paths with saber?

Hey, never used this sub before but I need help and cannot find anything on the Internet that can help me. Basically I have used the saber effect and drawn a shark fin. So I have a really cool fire shark fin now but I really want it to draw itself. I tried radial wipe as trim paths does not work with saber but radial wipe doesn't work very well due to the shape of the shark fin. Anyone know anyway of getting the same effect that trim paths gives you with a normal shape outline but with the saber effect?
