Tracking a Small Object

Hi all, question - I have a small green card, which I as planning to have tossed from off camera to in front of the camera, and I want to display a video on top (like a mini green screen). I tried using the auto tracking feature and it couldn't even come close to keeping up. Is the only real option to manually keyframe and track the card?
