It was late afternoon when I wandered deeper into the woods than I ever had before, the golden light filtering through the trees and casting long, dappled shadows on the forest floor. I’d come here to escape, to clear my head, but I wasn’t expecting to find someone else. They were sitting against a moss-covered rock, almost blending into the scenery, their presence serene and unexpected. Our eyes met before we exchanged words, and there was something about the moment—something unspoken—that made it feel like we’d known each other forever.
The air around us felt thick, alive with unvoiced thoughts. Without a word, I stepped closer, and then, almost instinctively, they did the same. There was a sense of quiet urgency in the way the world seemed to hold its breath as we stood there, just inches apart. And then, as if drawn together by something invisible, our lips met. The kiss was soft, tentative at first, but it quickly deepened as the forest around us felt like it disappeared, leaving nothing but the two of us, wrapped in the quiet intimacy of the moment.
