Sunday afternoon, just 10 days till Christmas, and here I am, staring at a mountain of gifts that need wrapping. But for some reason, procrastination has me in its grip today. So, instead of tackling my to-do list, I figured I’d hop on Reddit and see what's happening.

A little about me: I'm a gay, married guy living in the sunny Southwest USA. I'm a healthcare IT professional, dog dad, avid hiker (weather permitting), urban explorer, and adventure enthusiast. Basically, I’m always up for something fun — unless the weather is too hot, then I’ll be indoors with a fan and some snacks.

Making new friends as an adult? Yeah, that’s a bit of a challenge. I’ve tried all the usual methods, but it feels like nothing really “sticks.” People grow up, grow apart, and it’s hard to meet folks who actually want a solid, real friendship. A lot of the friendships I had seem to be stuck in the “weekend bender at the gay bar” phase, and I'm looking for something deeper.

What I’m after are those friendships built on real connection: the kind where you can talk about life, hit the trails together, explore new places, eat good food, and laugh till your stomach hurts. Think of it like a "bromantic best-friend" vibe, without the awkwardness. I’ve been posting and replying for a while, but I still haven’t quite found the right fit — so here I am, trying again!

Ideally, you’re married, and whether you’re gay, straight, bi, or whatever, as long as you’re good-natured, down-to-earth, and looking for that genuine connection, we’ll probably get along. I’m based in Arizona, but I’m not opposed to making long-distance friends — after all, we’ve got plenty of ways to bridge the gap (planes, trains, and maybe even some old-school road trips).
