As I approach my 41st birthday in a few days, I can’t help but ponder what truly brings me happiness.

Can anyone honestly answer that question?

Having beautiful children, a nice house, and a successful career are the obvious answers. However, I still find myself feeling lonely. I’m a confident person by nature, but hitting 40 made me think differently. I’ve slowed down and tried to pinpoint when I was happiest.

I’ve dabbled in the world of affairs and had some success. The quick hookups were okay in the moment, but ultimately, they weren’t worth it. I had a long-term relationship with an AP for two years.
