Have you ever stumbled upon an album or a book or a game, spent some time listening/reading/playing it, and thought: “Oh my god, why have I only found this now? This is totally my thing!”? Feeling excitement about the chemistry and connection to it, the feelings it evokes in you, and yet also regret, for the years that have passed that you could have spent enjoying this awesome new part of yourself.

Or how about this?

Have you ever been really excited to go somewhere, like a theme park (say, Disneyland), and the build up is insane. You eat the food, go on all the rides, buy merch, and when you leave, you feel kinda… empty. Like, you did all the things you wanted to do, but afterwards you just feel used; like nothing but another dollar for Disney. And yet… there was one thing you did that you truly enjoyed. One interaction. One ride, perhaps. That thing you would do over and over, no questions asked. It shone to you, like a diamond in the rough…

I don’t have a lot of money, or chiselled abs, and I’m definitely no doctor. I don’t “travel for work” or make a commission. And I’m definitely not blessed downstairs…

But what I can bring are the following things:

• Time. I’m available days (AEST, Australia) and most nights. My work varies but I have a lot of availability to chat, text, call.

• Attention. When we chat, you have my full focus. I’m reading your messages, sometimes multiple times, even after I reply. While I’m not slow to reply when we are chatting, I do listen well and enjoy deep connection, as well as general chat.

• Humour (yes I spelt that with a u, lol. I’m an Aussie. Let’s move on…). I think I’m pretty funny. Like, not on command, just in passing and in the moment. I appreciate people that bring their own sense of humour and love wit and wordplay particularly.

• Understanding. I have a life of my own - as do you obviously lol - and being married with kids for some time now gives you space and perspective. Different people want different things for different needs/reasons. And that’s ok.

• Communication. If things work, I’ll tell you so from my end. If things don’t work, I’ll tell you openly and respectfully.

• Discretion. I’ve been doing this for a little while now, and I know exactly what I want. I’m looking for someone to really connect with. One person, who is also attached, to share that secret side of ourselves that has been neglected and hidden for too long. Who knows how to protect what we have.

• Intimacy. I’m looking for closeness. Emotional, sexual, relational, you name it , I want it. Someone I can whisper my darkest thoughts to, and laugh about my brightest ideas to. Someone who is attracted to me for who I am, and vice versa.

• Fun. I want to enjoy our time together! I know a lot of it is “life” and it’s not always a walk in the park, but I want to smile when I open a message from you, and hopefully, you would do the same for me.

Now, about me:

• I’m 30, Australian, and married with two kids

• I am a professional who has stepped away from his career to focus on his mental health and be more present for his kids

• I enjoy reading (fantasy, sci-fi, classics), fitness, music (rock, punk, some metal), some anime and selected games

• I like to create stuff, not with my hands (lol) but more game concepts, painting, writing

• I have stepped away from religion over the past few years due to trauma/growth

• I’m a very visual and auditory person. I love to appreciate the beauty of a song, or the splendour of sunset, especially with another person. Voice calls are important to me.

• I’m not sporty, but like to keep active by walking and lifting occasionally.

• I’m a more slender kinda guy, with some muscle. Just a heads-up if you were expecting Chris Hemsworth at this point… I’m sorry, but cmon, this is Reddit…
