It’s like I’m trapped on a boat and can’t find the way out. Just when I think it’s better I realize I’m just in the eye of the storm. I see the storm clouds still swirling, I still see the waves still crashing, and I try my best to stay in the eye of the storm, where the seas are calm, and the sun is shining. But then suddenly the storm changes directions, and I’m caught in the turbulence again.
What am I looking for? That girl that you speak of was the waterlogged shipwreck survivor I found being tossed around in the waters and rescued, only to have her turn into my first mate, whom I can rely upon to help steer the ship, when I am distracted by other things, and reminds me that everything is going to be OK. Sometimes I lose my way, steer into uncharted waters or come close to a rocky shoal. She is my calm. My rock. She doesn’t know it, but she makes me be a better person.
