Yes i suffer from red-green colour deficiency and im currently pursuing a diploma in aerospace eng. Told my course manager about my condition and he said it's fine as for now but i may have a hard time after graduation if i wanted a degree in an eng related field.
Now my biggest worry is that will my condition refrain me from getting the same job opportunity as someone w/o color blindness? Im afraid of constant rejections from aerospace companies because of my condition. I do not want my years of hard work studying aerospace engineering goes to waste because of my condition.
Unless you want to be an engineer who works explicitly in testing aircraft and become the crew of such an aircraft, color vision is absolutely no issue and no company or employer should or will take it into consideration, even if you do want to work testing aircraft, it might take extra money and time, but (in the US) you would be able to acquire an FAA medical.
