I (F19) just started college and it has been really difficult finding friends since I don't have a roommate. I've met a lot more guys through my efforts than girls. It's not that I don't like girls and I'll usually have pleasant interactions with them, it's just that I find more in common with guys. I'm not even talking stereotypical male activities. I appreciate how they're more upfront, real, and honest. My best friend is female and I have a couple female acquaintances but it doesn't feel open. Furthermore, I prefer a guy's sense of humor. I have dealt with many girls who are manipulative and dramatic etc. How do I prevent myself from becoming or seeming like a pick me girl? I don't want to be the stereotypical "Guys love me. Girls are mean." But I'm tired of being lonely and I'm a bit desperate.
