Iâm a 29 year old male, single, very healthy and active, living in California. I make too much money to qualify for free Medicare and not enough money to have unnecessary expenses. Iâve not been seriously sick or injured in over a decade and have been to the doctors one time in that span to get a physical⌠to me, paying $3000 a year for insurance is such a waste of money.
I would however like to get a physical and some blood work done at some point this year. Mostly as a precautionary type thing. Maybe get my T levels checked as well. Aside from that I really donât foresee needing insurance for any reason. Will a doctor see me and do those things without insurance? Will the cost out weigh a year of having insurance? Is it illegal to not have insurance?
Also one last thing, before anyone says âwhat if you get injured or you never know what could happenâ⌠thatâs just not how I view life. Iâm okay taking the risk tbh itâs not a concern for me. When I have kids and a wife in my mid to late 30s maybe that changes. I leave my front door of my apartment unlocked, I leave the keys in my ignition, I never pay the parking meter etc⌠just not someone who worried about things like that
