Hey everybody,
I’m driving a 2016 Volkswagen Polo. Nice, except it’s a diesel. Many people panic-sell now but I don’t know what to do. Right now my car is worth 60% of what i bought it for one year ago. Everything weighed in (gassprice, insurance, taxes) I calculated that it would save me €100,- a month if I’d switch to benzine, but the price of benzine occasions are quite high now.
So here’s my options in my opinion:
Hold on to the diesel. I don’t sell with a big loss but next months might be not so great with the expected diesel shortenings coming up.
Sell and get a benzine. This would mean accept quite a loss and sell at a (probable) bad time, but the €100,- a month I save is a good thing.
Suspend the car. This way I don’t have to pay the extremely expensive taxes and insurances and I can relatively cheaply see how everything develops (I have the option to borrow a car so I’ll get around).
Hope to get some thoughts, and thanks in advance!
