Should I spend $600 to travel to a music festival alone?
Post Body

This is admittedly much lamer advice than other posts, but I’m seriously torn. I’m an 18F and I love to travel, and want to learn to travel solo (something my family is understandably concerned about, as I’m a woman). I wanted to go to this festival seeing as it’s one of KISS’s last performances ever, and an opportunity I’ll never have again (I’m not a huge fan, but one nonetheless). However, when doing the math, I realized that this trip would cost upwards of $600, which is a lot for a 2-3 day trip. Also, I’ve only been to one music festival and found it hard to get into the partying mood even with a friend who is much more social than me. No friends or family are available to come, but I’ve talked to some other young adults online I could meet there. On one hand I think I could have a lot of fun and learn to travel independently, but on the other… you know. Has anyone been in a similar dilemma, and what would you advise me to do? I am fortunate enough to be able to just spend $700 on a trip, but in the other hand it’s still $700 I could put towards something else.

TDLR: should I spend $600-700 to travel solo to a festival I’m not sure I’m going to enjoy myself at?
