This is without a doubt the hardest “chapter” of my life so far as an 18 year old guy. My moms been single my whole life, raised me and my (29 y.o.) sister, my dad was in our life and did everything he was supposed to but a real connection was never built with him. My mom has kind of made me her only friend even though there’s other people out there she could associate with and sometimes makes me feel guilty when I spend time with my friends. I’m in college, I’m employed, I’m ready to leave the nest and start my life and make connections without having to feel like I’m leaving her for dead. How do I help her take care of herself so that she can be happy and I can find my own way?
