So a guy (33m) and I (38f) started working together at this place a couple of months ago. We ended up having a lot in common (mostly movies, tv shows), and quickly started texting, becoming FB friends and messaging as well. We did get in trouble (a verbal warning) for talking a bit too much while actually working so they started noticeably separating us a bit. As we both got better at our jobs (since weāre both still fairly new), chatting while working hasnāt been an issue for either of us but weāve still been mostly put in different areas. So we just started chatting more via text, messaging etc. and then started taking breaks together instead. Well, shortly after we started taking lunch breaks together he stopped responding to texts and FB messages. After the first time I thought I said the wrong thing as he literally left me on āreadā. But then the next time we worked together (our days only slightly overlap), he was more quiet than usual but then ended up talking like nothing was wrong and we ended up having our lunch break together once more. He apologized for not responding to my messages right off the bat (I never brought it up), and I told him to think nothing of it and we just talked like we normally did before. Now hereās the thingā¦he seems to drop off the face of the earth and doesnāt text or message back anymore, which I thought was because he was seeing a girl (he mentioned going on a date) who just didnāt feel comfortable with him having a female work friend. I mean I think itās weird not to just tell me because I would totally understand but then he still initiates talking and going to breaks in person soā¦wtf.
So, Iām married. He knows Iām married. My husband knows weāre friends and he isnāt a jealous person at all. So, itās not like this isnāt a platonic work friendship but now I feel like itās kinda weird because this guy is just a different person depending on the situation. So I guess Iām wonderingā¦what the heck is the deal? And first time posting so hopefully this doesnāt go against the rules.
