So I work for a major brand that distributes pastries around the world and I have been with this warehouse since it opened. I have moved up from am equipment operator to distribution lead. My supervisor and myself have ran our department with little to no help from management and recently a position on our shift opened up for a production scheduler and planner position. For the last two years I had been taking on other responsibilities such as inventory control, office clerk, planning, and my normal responsibilities as lead. I interviewed and was told mu chances were great to get it. I had numerous people tell me this was my chance and they have heard good things. But last night I discovered I wasn't selected. I have no been passed up for the fourth time on a position that I am more than qualified for due to my experiences in this warehouse. Everything from planner, supervisor, and material analyst positions, which are all things I have had experience in while working here. To make things worse when my manager informed me I wasn't selected, he gave the reason "you are too good in your area, your team would be lost without you". I got upset... I have been with this warehouse since it opened. I was the first equipment operator and third lead EVER hired for this facility. Am I justified in feeling a little hurt and left behind? What should my next steps be... ive poured my heart and soul into my work and now I'm not so sure anymore... sorry for for length... im just lost.
