Over a year ago, I started to realise I didn't enjoy hanging out with two of my close friends - let's call them A and B. They had always brought out the worst in each other but the more prominent use of drugs, disregard for other people, and general team-up bullying of me when I was around them got worse and worse so I just stopped hanging out with them. After a snide comment in our group chat from A was made about me not hanging out with them (because I nearly always declined the offer because I didn't enjoy feeling like shit around them), I called them out for it. they just kicked me from the chat entirely. So I took this as a good sign to just be rid of them.
A year or more went by with not a word from either of them which suited me just fine - I am now closer with people that mean a great deal to me and that actually give a shit about me and my opinions and feelings etc and we all have an awesome time together when we can hang out (curse you covid). I honeslty think cutting ties with the aforementioned A and B was the best thing I could have done. A never apologised and B never said a thing to me about it either so he had clearly chosen which side of the fence to be on about the situation. They were busy being garbage pals so I left them to it.
However, over the past few weeks, B has tried to get in touch again. I've seen the messages but I've not responded as I don't think it's worth my time, and I know through a mutual friend that A and B have fallen out, so it very much feels like B is reaching out because he's got few people left. I assumed not responding would be a response in itself. But B has now text me, messaged me on Instagram, messaged me on Facebook messenger multiple times, messaged me sister about it, and gotten his own sister to message me about it too.
Maybe I shouldve just said something outright sooner, but I also don't appreciate how manipulative B is being about it. We were friends. We are not anymore, and I don't plan on revisiting that. I get the sense this isn't going to stop unless I spell it all out, but I appreciate that wording should probably be chosen wisely.
So, anyone got some advice on what I can say to settle this once and for all?
