Sleep Management for a Shift Worker?
Post Body

I have worked nightshift/shift work my entire adult life. (30/f) My most recent job I work on call shift work. At anytime I can get called to go into work with only 2 hrs notice and will have to work up to 12 hrs. I get to rest for 6 hrs, then work 12 hrs again, then I can get 14 hrs rest. Repeat till days off.

I used to be that person that could sleep anywhere at anytime. Lately, I have had trouble getting sleep. I'm not allowed to take prescription sleep medication because at times I have to operate heavy machinery.

Have any suggestions? Either medication or habit wise to get more sleep? Right now I have been awake for 25 hrs and I'm WIDE awake. Other than melatonin... Tried that before and it didn't work well.
