Should I ask to be made full time

I currently work at a job as a part time I really don’t like it but the pay is good. I’m a recent transfer from a different store. I am currently getting 40hrs a week and they said this will probably go on for a few months while they look for a permanent full time. I really hate working the shift tho the hrs are 2-11 and it makes me feeI like I have no time other than the weekend. My thinking is if I’m working like a full timer I should have full time Status so I can get benefits. Am I wrong should I say something?
