Okay so by law in the US if you work full time (40 hours per week) your employer is required to offer benefits so far as I understand it. I work for a pizza place and I am the only full-time employee other than the GM. I am a delivery driver and I work Monday-Friday 10:45 am-8:00 pm. I'm about to turn 26 and can no longer be covered under my fathers health insurance at that point. I am almost certain that if I approach the owner and request benefits of a full time employee she will just tell the Gm to stop scheduling me for 40 hours each week as opposed to giving me benefits that she is required by law to provide. Is there a way to approach her about giving me benefits without her cutting my hours just to avoid paying for what she's required to? Or is my best bet to simply find a job that will be honorable and provide benefits like they're required to? I enjoy what I do and I bring in about 450-500$ each week just from tips so I'd like to keep this job, I just can't see a way to keep doing what I'm doing and get benefits that I have to have by the end of the year.
