I've had bad insomnia for the last few weeks, coming up on a month. This is very out of the ordinary for me, usually I sleep almost too much, 10-12 hrs. I work 12 hour shifts on nights at a stressful job, so usually when I get home I pass out until the next shift basically. Lately though I can't sleep a full night, averaging 5-6 hours a night, sometimes less for the last few weeks.
It's actually gotten bad enough that I've taken a week off of work. I haven't really been feeling any more stressed than usual, that I've noticed, but figured that the time off would help me relax and hopefully correct my sleeping situation. I'm about 3 days into my "vacation" at this point and I'm still tired as ever but unable to sleep more than 5-6 hours. I've also been having nightmares recently, so that may be a factor. I have had them in the past, but not for about a year or so until recently. I think this is strange because I'm a 23 year old man, and I probably shouldn't be having nightmares. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
