Hello, I apologize in advance if this is long. So to give background, I(25M) was married for roughly 3 years. Went through divorce, we had 2 kids together, just not the best relationship, I won't get into details on that.
Well, there was this girl that I matched with on hinge. We talked/texted for about 3 weeks while she was out of state. When she got back we went on a date(literally drove like 8-10hours then immediately went to dinner with me). Well, we immediately hit it off well, and from that point spent as much time together as we could, started dating shortly after our first date and then dated for several months. This was an absolutely healthy relationship, we shared the same values/morals and religious beliefs. Communication between us felt like nothing. For the first time I was genuinely very happy in a relationship. Both of us were absolutely in love with each other. We went on a week vaca with some of my friends, and had a falling out there(she was unsure of relationship due to our kids situation and us having different interests), I won't go into too much detail as it doesn't pertain to my question. Well she broke up with me, we didn't talk much until randomly in Aug, she went with me on a long drive somewhere and decided to try again. That only lasted a few weeks before she broke up with me again. She decided she didn't want a relationship again because of her starting school again, and our different wants(ex. She was more of a country girl vs me being a big city guy).
So to go back to my question, I absolutely adore and love this women. Legitimately more than I loved my ex the 3 years we were married. We do not talk anymore and we are blocked on socials. Literally a day does not go by where I don't think of this girl. It was honestly easier to get over my ex-wife than it has been for her. I genuinely loved everything about her and (as ridiculous as it sounds) still think she's the most beautiful girl. I know this stuff takes time I just don't want to be years and years down the road still stuck in this spot and not able to give someone else the love they deserve because of it. I refuse to date until I can get past this, so if it takes years that's okay but man is it rough. Our relationship set the bar so astronomically high that it seems unattainable with someone else.
