This may be a silly question but I've been having a nonstop argument with my folks about this so I figured I'd bring my question here. For context, yesterday I went to check on an application I put in for a job and talked to someone who worked there for a good minute about it. As I was leaving about 10 minutes after looking around, the girl working at the front door walked up and asked me which department I applied for and I answered her, and left after she told me it may just take some time before I hear something. My dad was with me and he swears up and down that this girl was flirting with me, but took it as she was being professional and asking a question. I feel bad tho because I was already halfway out the door before she finished what she was saying and I'm normally not that rude. I also have autism and I struggle picking up on social ques but even then my parents swear up and down she was flirting with me. How do I distinguish between actual flirting or just professionalism?
