I’m struggling to make connections with people as an autistic adult
Post Body

So like the title says, I haven’t been able to make genuine connections with people. I feel like I’m always being misunderstood and people just think I’m weird.

I have autism and I was diagnosed early so I was able to get some help in school, but it basically just helped me become better at masking instead of actually dealing with the issues. Once I moved out and went to college everything changed. I didn’t have any resources, no other autistic friends, nothing.

I try talking to someone and I think it’s going well, we meet, eventually hook up or something, I think it’s going well, then they say the whole “we shouldn’t see each other anymore. You didn’t do anything wrong, I just think it’s for the best” I just don’t understand this. It hurts me. I just really need some advice on how to make more lasting relationships
