How to talk a family member after a family feud
Post Body

So I 28M just moved back to the small town in which I was born in and don’t have many friends here. I would like to reach out to my cousin who is about the same age as me. The issue is, his mom and my mom (who are sisters) do not get along and haven’t since I was about 7. I don’t know the full extent as to what happened but basically my cousins mom accused my older brother of molesting me which was completely false. I still don’t know why she thought my brother did that to me but it never happened and ever since my mom has not talked to her. I would like to reach out to my cousin because even though we did not grow up together, it appears we have a lot in common including the fact that we both ride motorcycles. We are friends on Facebook but have never interacted with one another. How would y’all advise going about talking to him knowing that history between our mothers. I don’t want to bring back any family drama just hang out with my cousin and get to know him.
