Just scraped a guys car while reversing, agreed to go through garage instead of insurance, best way to avoid being ripped off?
Post Body

From the UK, i caught a guys car while reversing because a car infront refused to move and was blocking my side of the road, i went and found the owner of the car and told him what happened.

Seems like a 18/19 y.o kid (im 26) and he said he has had 3 crashes and wanted to do it privately via garage instead of through insurance, i agreed because my insurance is quite high but im worried he might try rip me off,

Im going to demand he shows me any reciepts or cost of work before i give any money, but any advice on how to make sure im not screwed over? My financial situation is already awful and ready to cry or pull my hair out 🥲🥲
