House broken into but nothing taken?
Post Body

So I (17M) live at home with my mother and younger brother. I live on the ground floor while the rest of my family live upstairs. My mother was home essentially the entire day and did not hear a thing. When i went into my room the sliding part of my window had been taken off completely and rested against the wall next to my bed?? I had some small 'plants' growing in a box on the windowsill. The box had been knocked off in their attempt to get in but nothing had been taken out of it. I have lighters and other things all throughout my room, I had my laptop resting on the floor by the window which had a light shoe mark on it yet somehow was not broken. The top drawer next to my bed was open but nothing taken. I assume they were after weed but they clearly did not look very hard. Nothing is missing not even my playstation controllers laptop tv, chargers, games, Certain accessories, expensive lighters, clothes, the list goes on. The crazy part is that my family was home and heard nothing but it is clear someone had been in my room yet everything appeared to be untouched. Could someone possibly explain why they didnt take anything and what should be my course of action from here? I have suspicions of certain people it could be but I would consider them to be more reckless.
