Should I (22F) hookup with this guy (22M) after failed “talking stage?

was talking to this guy for a couple weeks he was cool and all sex was good too. i did like him and hoped things would go somewhere emotionally but i don’t think he’s interested in me enough to want to date/ be serious so that kind of fizzled out no biggie. ANYWAYS i wanna have sex… and thought about asking him. would this be wise? i am very positive that he’ll say yes but bc we had a failed talking stage should i just hit up another person for the job or it’s okay bc i’m not hurting him or myself it’s okay?
