I (22M) and my (F19) Gf have been together since February and we’re 7 months pregnant (well she is but we’re a team) when we first met, she was homeless staying in a shelter for younger adults (she now lives with me), her parents had kicked her out before she could finish high school and she’s from a more or less calm, quiet part of New Jersey that doesn’t have much of any crime, she somehow ends up in a very dangerous city more north but anyway, she was homeless for more then 3 months when we met and her parents weren’t willing to let her come home right away and they’d ignore her calls and texts even excluding her from a holiday (she and her family are Jewish) once they all found out she was pregnant it’s been nothing but “we’re here for you, we love you, whatever you need” blah blah bullshit and it kinda irks me because none of that was there when she was just your homeless daughter not your pregnant daughter. I finally got to meet her family and the entire weekend her dad barely spoke to me, normally when I date someone the dad is sniffing me up and down to get to know who’s dating their daughter but this guy more or less didn’t care to talk to me and I know I’m supposed to try and talk to him but this is new for me entirely. My girlfriend tells me how awful they were to her growing up and how much they’ve been stressing her out since she told them the news, she told me she doesn’t like when they touch her belly and only likes when I do because it’s our kid, during the drive home he touched her belly and it really really pissed me off, then he did it again before leaving and I was .5 second away from punching him in the jaw because I don’t want him touching my child or my girlfriend who doesn’t want to be touched by him even if it’s his daughter, was she his daughter when he kicked her out before finishing high school and leaving her in a dangerous city where anything could’ve happened to her? I need some older adult advice. Should I not be upset about that?
