How do I (M28) break up with my gf (F28) safely?
Post Body

I've been seeing my partner for almost a year now, she moved to my area due to previous abuse and unbeknownst to me at the time. It was told very shortly after. However I really liked her and her telling me what's happened made us closer.

Our relationship was great and the issues that had been evident I had chalked up to trauma which I tried however much I could to help with, even though it negatively impacted my mental health.

As someone who's suffered through it, I understood that it's not always rational and it takes understanding and support to get through.

Sadly there have been circumstances where she's threatened friends, distrupted my family, humiliated me due to her actions among friends, threatened harm on self. Which I realise is abusive, so I know I need to end it, however last time I tried she refused to leave my house, then followed me to my friends who I went to for support.

If I do it in public I'm scared that a scene will be made and it could get as far as police being called.

I owe her enough to break up face to face because she is a good person, but I don't know how to do it.

So any advice is very welcome, thankyou
