Was charging $250 for a 7 foot road sign too much?
Post Body

So my husband’s aunt reached out to me (a week before 4th of July) asking if I can paint a road sign for a HVAC contractor that she works for. They are starting up a store and need a sign for people driving by to see where they’re located. After looking it up and referencing other sign making companies/stores I came to the cost of $250 and I will provide the supplies except for the board they want it on (not knowing how big they want it). She came over, dropped off the 7ft board, and we discussed the price. She said okay to the $250 and then left. I spend about two weeks hand painting the sign and even showed pictures to show progress and to make sure it’s exactly what she and her boss wanted. The moment I send her a text saying I was done and showed her the finished sign, she replied “looks good” and that was it. It has been a little over a month and has said nothing more. Has not picked up the sign or paid me anything. It’s kinda pissing me off because the time I spend perfecting the sign is the time I could’ve spent on my daughter’s 1st birthday party. Not to mention was gonna use that money to cover some expenses for her party. Was asking for $250 too much and if there’s no response how long should I keep the sign until I decide to toss it? Honestly I’m just ready to burn it.
