A couple months ago, I lost my professional audio-technica studio headphones at my apartment gym. When I realized I left them there 20 minutes later, I rushed back to find they were no longer there, nor had they been returned to the concierge. I've been absolutely sick about it ever since as I can't afford to replace them and it's severely disrupted my music and video production.
A few days ago, I saw a young woman at my apartment gym wearing the exact same audio-technica headphones. Now, granted, this is a popular pair of headphones and it's possible she just also has a pair but it's not exactly a pair of beats. I don't think they're popular with general consumers and I suspect I'm the only weirdo in this apartment complex to wear over-ear studio cans to the gym.
I wasn't sure what to do when I saw her. I felt like I couldn't even talk to her about it as I can't be sure they're mine and I have no proof. I left the gym feeling like shit shortly after.
At this point, I strongly believe they are my headphones but I'm sensitive to the fact that they might not be. But if I see her again, I want to, at the very least, ask her about it. I'm not looking to be overly confrontational and I have no intention of making her feel uncomfortable (although if she did take them, discomfort is expected and warranted).
As of right now, the plan is to simply ask if she found them here. But I'd like to turn to reddit to see if anyone has more elegant solutions, particularly if they would allow me to prove whether they're mine or not. I should have the serial number and I'm pretty sure I registered them.
Also, are there any other subreddits I can post this question to?
