Advice, got fired..
Post Body

Last week I went to my boss/manager and brought my work phone having a cracked screen to their attention. They asked for the company phone and swapped it for a different one. Well today got called into the bosses office and was presented images of text that I had exchanged with another company, with me stating that i was puting my 2 week notice in.. I had changed my mind and did not put in any notice.. The messages were from about 3 or more weeks ago..

This by itself would is probably unjust termination maybe idk, but in other ways I was provided more chances to continue working than I was deserved.. and each time it was a documented process of "if you miss work one more time, you'll get a one week suspension without pay" type deal...

I'm not sure what advice I'm really looking for, to be honest. Just wondering if my next moves are what others would do, which is..

I was already applying for food stamps due to low income and low hours worked this year.. Had a phone interview scheduled but didn't have my correct phone number so now the interview is rescheduled and supposed to be in person however my cars not running so going to have to contact them about that.. However I guess now I go to the states unemployment website and document the change of employment, and put the reason as was presented to me.. And go about looking for another job.

Right? Sorry it seems mostly obvious to me I just don't want to do that part online and then find out later I should've done things another way, or had the option to, etc.. TIA
