Financial advice after my mother in law passed
Post Body

In January of this year my mother in law was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She hid it from my husband and I who have been separated since August of last year, so we didn’t know until March that she was sick. We didn’t tell her we had separated because it would have broken her heart and she ended up sick so we thought it was best not to tell her.

Back in march i offered to quit my job and be her full time care taker since she had nobody to do that for her. I ended up quitting my job and moving out of my apartment and living with her, while she paid me so I could pay bills.

Well, she passed away a week ago today. We are all devastated and working on her service and cleaning out her house. She had a lot of debt but she did have a life insurance policy. However, I was not in her will so everything money wise is up to my ex and whether or not he will agree to help me. Anyways, the issue is that we have to leave her house soon and I have nowhere to go and no money to get an apartment. My husband offered to let me live with him but I can’t do that as it wasn’t the safest place for me, which is why I left in the first place.

Side note: I did get accepted to nursing school, however being that I have no money for even an apartment I am at a loss for what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
