My state is one those making anti-trans/lgbtq laws, and I am trans so I am planning to leave. This is not the only reason, I've been planning to leave for a while. this is just an extra push. I've been doing a lot of research on where to go, and I have no idea. Everyone says Minnesota, since they have enacted trans protection laws. But the winters there are so long and cold. I don't mind some snow, but I honestly don't know if I could handle it. I want to work in a creative field, so I'm considering NYC, but it is so expensive. I don't need a huge house. I'm okay with small apartment. Also so many places I look at have high crime rates or the city has a strong history of racism, and I'm not sure how much of a concern this is and how much I should be thinking about it. I need to start saving and planning because I want to move by September, but I have no idea where to go.
