What is a cheap yet engine-based mode of transportation I could use to get to the gas station?
Post Body

A couple months ago my husband's brakes failed and while we wait for his friend to gather the resources to fix it I'm stuck at home (freelance worker) with no mode of transport. If I need stuff during the week like groceries I normally just ask him to pick something up on the way home.

But sometimes I just wanna get out and go to the gas station down the road for a snack. Other than a bicycle or walking, what is a cheap mode of transport I could invest in?

Further details incase someone wants to get super detailed about this: The gas station is 2.5 miles away. On that route I do have hills, this is why walking/biking is not a great option because despite being exercise it simply takes too much time away from my work. I need these trips to be done in under an hour, and the hills can easily turn a walking trip into a two hour affair.

I'd also like to just have fun with it. I live pretty back-woods so I don't have to worry so much about 'what is and isn't street legal' since most cops around here don't really give a shit.
