I moved to a new city for grad school and all of my friends here are from school. I dropped out and got a job making approximately five times what we used to make. I still like hanging out with them and talking to them, but it’s hard for me to know where the limit is because there is stuff I want to do that they just can’t afford. I am happy to pay for them, but I don’t want to make them feel bad. (They shouldn’t, money doesn’t define a person and they work way harder and are way smarter than me)
Should I be going to expensive places and paying when we go out to dinner?
Or should I just go along with the cheaper activities they can pay for?
It just kinda sucks that I make money and can’t enjoy it with people I care about.
Also to note, most of my friends are guys since I was in a male dominated field, but I’m a girl. So that kinda adds to it a little I think cuz of the societal implication.
