At the end of the last session (DDAL08-08 Crypt of the Dark Kiss) my character was left with depleted max HP after encountering some vampire spawn. This effect should correct itself after a long rest but the DM said the next session would pick up immediately from where we left off and I'd have to spend downtime to correct the effect. It was also thought that a lesser restoration spell would fix me but I would need to spend downtime and gp to avail of that service, the AL players guide says you need a party member with a spell to avail of spell casting services during downtime. Complicating all this, I'm leveling up (5 -> 6) and all and all this seems like a mess.

By my own logic everyone long rests between sessions, the effect is gone and I level up as normal. Does that seem right to everyone here or is there a RAW solution to this problem?
