Why everyone is wrong
Post Body

Hi Comrade,

Now that I have attention from glorious propaganda title, here is thing you think is good, but Motherland say no.

-1. Meta Tron is relatively bad.

Those of you who have seen my username around probably saw this coming. Half of my comments on this subreddit are bitching about MT. To keep it short and sweet though: MT is worth at most 16 commons. Keep that in mind when deciding if you want to buy him or not. For comparison's sake, if each 'tier' is worth twice as much as the one below it, the Supremes look like this:

S tier: Alf & Jym

A tier: Ratchemus

B tier: Meta Tron

B- tier: Dr. Shortstack

He's still worth more than most non-supremes, for what that's worth, but people often think of him as on Ratchemus' level when he's much closer to being on Dr. Shortstack's level.

And remember: All cards are equal on curve, but some cards are more equal than others.

-2. Epic chests are great*.

*if you intend to play the game for a long timeâ„¢.

Once you have 387 copies of an epic (including ones you spent on leveling the epic up), instead of getting a useless card, you get 1000 500 science! Epic chests haven't been seen lately, but they were 10,000 science and for someone who had been playing for a reasonable amount of time provided more than 10 epics. In the longâ„¢ term, they were literally a "Click here to get free science" button! Epic chests are still worthwhile as they are a huge discount on epics, making them the most reasonable way to get end-game science while also getting value. But they aren't free science good.

As an aside, at max copies commons give 5 science, rares give 50 science, supremes give 20,000, and event researchers probably give 1,000 500 science, but that last one is pure speculation since I've not seen the number anywhere.

-3. Investment epics are the best*.

*if you intend to play the game for a long timeâ„¢ and don't mind hitting walls.

After a certain point, the gains from ranking up are relatively small. By that, I mean how much the science & card multipliers increase. If you don't mind slowing your immediate progress from ranking up, you will make greater strides towards achieving 100% completion by shifting focus to investment cards somewhere between level 40 and level 70 or so.

Of course, if your goal is to hit max rank as quickly as possible, investment epics are absolutely useless. Just remember that investment epics scale with how long you intend to play the game.

~~-4. Epics are always worth buying in the store for science because they are free*.

*if you intend to play the game for a long timeâ„¢.~~

Leaving the below because it's worthwhile information, even if the original point was wrong.

Commons cost 10 science per card and give 5 back at max. Rares cost 100 science per card and give 50 back at max. Epics cost 1,000 science per card and give 1,000 500 back at max. Supremes cost 40,000 science per card and give 20,000 back at max.

Just remember, your goal here is to spend a maximum of 5,418,000 science and epics are just freeâ„¢ science!

SUPER IMPORTANT EDIT: According to the wiki, epics appear to give 500 science, not 1000. Not sure where I heard otherwise from. Point number 4 is incorrect. Points 2/3 still stand, though 2 is slightly weaker.
