I grew up before credit ratings were a feature of your daily life. In my early years, loan decisions were made by honest to god people at your local bank. Then the FICO score became popular. I have learned that trying to monitor your credit score is a hopeless cause because there are so many different scores based on different lenders and vendors. I never got turned down for a job because of my credit score. I've never paid higher insurance rates because of my credit score. Yet I have heard this happens. Can anybody educate this old guy with a score of 690 what a young person has to go through these days to maintain and acceptable number? Does anybody have a credit score of 666? 😆😆😆
