How do I get through another 6 months at work?
I recently graduated college in December 2022. I am 22 and I have been with my current job for a little over 6 months. I have another 6 months left to fulfill my obligations, otherwise, I will have to return the sign-on bonus I accepted when I started this job.
Currently, right now I hate my fucking job. And these emotions have been lingering since two months into the job. Btw I work in finance. And every Sunday I always have a panic attack or feelings of anxiousness.
I feel like I did the best that I could and, unfortunately, my manager does not appreciate my work. I am overworked and split among three teams, but don’t feel like I have a place to speak up since my manager thinks I’m underperforming though I receive good reviews from my supervisor whom I work with directly (more than my manager). And when I told my supervisors about my manager’s review, they told me they were caught off guard. It seems like the feedback I receive from my coworkers and colleagues does not align with the feedback my manager has given me.
Several different incidents also had taken place which pushed me to confide in my mentor who also thinks the situation is getting toxic and out of hand. She suggested I switch teams within the firm, and I have entertained the idea for several weeks now. However, with each passing day, I am starting to realize how much I dislike the company’s culture and environment that I’m willing to leave altogether once it hits my one year.
Does anyone have any advice on how I should deal with these next 6 months? I am dreading that I have to waste my time for another 6 months, but had it not been for the agreement I signed months before starting my full time - I would’ve quit a long time ago. I honestly fill foolish for being tempted by the money because now I'm starting to realize no amount of money is worth this.
