Ok so I know how to update my registration under normal circumstances. I get my inspection and then go to the texas.gov website and find the link to registration and pay my money and wait for my sticker.

The issue I'm having is my car is currently in the shop. It has been since September! A part that makes the transmission work properly broke (thankfully under warranty) but the part is on backorder so they can't replace it yet.

I've got a rental car that I've been in ever since I took my car in, so I have transportation. My question is just how do I take care of my registration for it if I can't go take it to get inspected because it can't drive and is in the shop.

Do I just get it done when my car gets out of the shop? If it's not out before my registration expires, will I be in trouble when I go to do my registration?
