Hi everyone. I'm new to inducing even though I breastfed my kid for five years (over three years ago). Yes, I did went through the whole wiki before posting.
As I approach my period I get discouraged. I think I started the induction process a bit over a month and I kinda got discouraged and dropped the subject. But, about two or so weeks ago, I started again and I'm planning to stick to it, for sure this time.
On Monday I couldnt pump nor do the marmet technique because my in-laws came to visit and then I went to a friend's house and stayed there for a few hours. Up until then I was getting a few drops of whitish duct fluid consistently each time, but yesterday, nothing came out. Today I got one on one side and not the rest and I'm feeling discouraged again. I know this is a long road, but seeing the drops was encouraging and having it reverse so quickly kinda bummed me down (my period is due in a couple of days so that may be discouraging me as well).
I still feel my breasts kinda lumpier , like they were when I breastfed my kid, so that hasn't reversed back I gues. But reading stories of people who have successfully induced without Dom (which it seems to make things easier) could really be helpful to maintain the encouragement!
On the other hand, I'm not sure when I'm supposed to stop pumping, for example, and I'd like your input, because I start feeling "tingly" which feels like the ejection reflex from when I breastfed and I'm not sure if feeling that should be the minimum time I'm supposed to be stimulating my breasts or how to measure that. I'm not saying I want to do the minimum, but if that were the case I may be able to add a few more stimulation sessions throughout the day.
At this point, could I use a vibrator as a replacement for a tense unit or that wouldn't do anything?
Lastly, I was wondering if you had a resource on using manual pumps. I feel that if when it's attached and sucking I pull lightly, I get stimulated faster than if I just pump, but I'm not sure if that's effective or if I'm doing it right. I've found online some videos but they don't do a close up on the breast and most of them don't even attach the pump to a real breast!
I'm sorry for the long post and the many questions, but as a newbie this would encourage me and point me in the right direction!
