I have an 18 month old I have been slowly weaning for the last few months. We were down to a midday nap feed, a bedtime feed and midnight feed.
My husband and I are trying our hand at ABF again and really want it to be wet vs dry. I am obviously still lactating since i have the baby. I have always had a great or oversupply.
Well now that I’m trying to increase supply to around the clock, i am having issues at a certain times having no supply. I have added pumping in 3 times a day so that between pumping and feeding baby and hubby, im expressing every 3 hours between 7 am and 10 pm.
My 7/7:30 am pump is increasing fast and I know its because I dont feed or pump between 2 and 7. My 10:30/11 pump is only about 0.5-1 oz. Feed baby around 1:30/2. Pump again around 4:30/5 which is almost nonexistent. Feed at 8:30/9 and hubby nurses around 10. I know baby is getting plenty so those feeds are producing.
My question is how do i get the mid morning and mid afternoon pumps to go up more? Other than repetition and always emptying.
Also, is it possible to get supply back to “around the clock”/“on demand” like when youre feeding a newborn? Does that just come with breaking up the routine/expressing more often?
