First, thank you in advance for your time. I've been getting reacquainted with the idea of relactation with the helpful info from this group. In doing the reading and conversing with some of you, I have hope that a post-menopausal woman like me in their 50's who nursed over 30 years ago, can indeed lactate. My path of choice, which feels like a longshot is pretty much going to be exclusive pumping.

However, I know from prior attempts, I cannot accommodate the schedule it entails until a few years (apx 5) down the road, after retirement. So I ask you helpful, wise folks, these questions.

1. Do you think there'd be any benefit to stimulating 2-4 x/day M-F and possibly more on the weekends, for the next few years until I can pump every 3-4 hours 24/7?

At that time hopefully I can reach the goal of producing a substantial flow to feed my husband for his health and all those warm-fuzzies we know and love.

If the lack of full on stimulation isn't going to be enough to wake up the pituitary then it'd be a frustrating waste of time for me until I can do it full time. I'm not saying there aren't emotional and physical benefits for me in the interim, but from the perspective of having milk as the goal, we could just continue to enjoy our short dry suckling sessions.

1. Has anyone of a similar age and experience successfully induced while only pumping? If so, what did your journey look like until you reached full lactation?

2. Also, I'm not opposed to using supplements or tea if there are any that you've truly seen real results with and that don't interact with medication or unpleasant side effects, please share.
