Hello again! So I have a tens unit, I use the Tens 7000 and I have my settings as recommended by the article in the wiki. I love using the tens unit, but my skin hates normal tens unit electrodes and gets a major rash. I tried out the hypoallergenic pads, and, although they worked great, I disliked that I seemed to suck at taking care of them or that they didn't feel like they lasted long without needing me to buy more. So while on the Tens Pro website, I happened to see these Rubber Carbon electrodes and I wanted to see what they were about! I now have them and they're pretty neat, so I wanted to share my experience using them with you all in case you might be also crazy enough to try them!
So these rubber carbon electrodes have these sponges cases that are sold on the same website. You dampen the sponges with saline (I made mine at home with non-iodized salt and distilled water because the internet said I could) and then put the pads under and over top of your boobs. These pads are pretty big and they don't come much smaller, so I can't pump with these like I usually like to do because if I tried the flange wouldn't fit. Maybe someone with much bigger boobs could manage it with the bigger surface area for them to rest on, haha. I used the tens unit at the same strength I would use with normal electrodes, and it feels great! The sponges and the pads are reusable and I have a spray bottle with the saline in it so I can just spray them to dampen them and use them when I remember to! The only thing I dislike about the experience is that it will make your bra damp, so you'd need to have a couple of bras in rotation for this purpose; if you try to wear the same bra after using it for this it'll be like wet sock on your boob, ew. I used to only have one pumping bra before, but with this in play having an extra is totally worthwhile and necessary (I wanted more than one but couldn't afford it before).
There's not a whole lot of info about these electrodes, which surprised me. I saw some comments in the sea of the interwebz that suggested that electrode gel could be used with the sponges, but the saline has been sufficient so I don't really think it is necessary. I wish they came in a smaller size, but even still I am happy to have found this option that lasts a LOT longer it seems than normal electrode sticky pads.
If anyone else has used these, I would love to hear about your experiences with them! If you end up trying them out too, let me know what you think of them! Happy new year!
