Hello everyone and happy new year! I've been meaning to post for a bit but I'm finally getting around to it. This first day of the new year has been pretty productive!
For anyone who doesn't know me well, I have been inducing since 2020 and have been lactating to some extent since 2021. I have never been pregnant! I started pumping and ramping it up again a few months ago. Right now I'm currently about a month into taking dom full time at 30 mg x four times daily. This dose has worked for me in the past and I have not seen results with less dom than that. I had to wait for it to get here before I could! I am currently using the Baby Buddha first generation with 17 mm pumpables liquid flanges. If I can get up early enough, I am managing to pump between 6 to 10 times a day (today will be the second day in a row that I have pumped/emptied by hand at least 10 times, freaking wild). I am currently making about 2 ounces a day total, with my first pump of the day yielding the most (as usual). I might be making slightly more, but I am too lazy or too pressed for time to hand express into a container or something other than my kitchen sink, so measuring what I hand express doesn't happen; not to mention that the milk goes in 8 different directions, including straight up in the air on one of my left boob's ducts, so aim is not always possible despite my best efforts, haha.
I think my biggest obstacles to making more are a few different things, some of which I gained insight into through the help of this community as I have read through all of your struggles, as well as from my best friend, who has reminded me of some crucial stuff that I have too easily overlooked as reasons that might dampen results no matter how hard I try (and that's okay!):
- I have ADHD and that doesn't help anything, but my typical struggles with managing that leak into my inducing efforts. So sometimes my squirrels make it hard for me to stay on track or sometimes I think to myself that making a plan would be great, but then making a plan doesn't happen until months later;
- I have had a LOT OF STRESS this last year and my friend is astounded often that I don't remember to give myself enough credit for even being at this point in spite of that. I won't go into a lot of details, but I have experienced loss, hardship, and stress of varying extremes and inducing while going through it all has been harder on some days than others. I hope this year's forecast will be a little more relaxed so I can have more fun with this and I can achieve the results I'm looking for! I used to make 10 ounces a day and I'd like to get back to that!
- I can't remember if when I made the most milk if I was taking birth control or not; if I was, it would have been the mini pill for sure. I am kind of wondering if the mini pill helped me way back when, but I haven't been able to remember whether or not I was taking it at that time, and I keep forgetting to search the sub for old posts from my old account to see if I ever mentioned it or not. I got my tubes tied this year, so I don't need it for contraceptive anymore, but I'm thinking about seeing if adding it back into the mix would help or not after I give it another month or two with just dom and pumping depending on how my supply is looking by then. For now I am only on dom and my other medications, no supplements because I can't afford them yet.
I am definitely optimistic and my boobs feel great! My boyfriend thinks they're the biggest they've ever been and 2 ounces is still a bunch to have fun with even if it's not as much as I know I am capable of making through inducing. I'm looking forward to continuing and hopefully the next time I write up one of these I'll be able to say I am making even more! Good luck to everyone and happy pumping!
