Eufy S1 Wearable Breast Pump Review
Post Body

I've used this pump on and off for a few months now since I got it, but am now currently using it exclusively.

THINGS I LIKE ABOUT IT ...

  • heated flanges ... this feature I absolutely love! You can set it to turn off after 5 to 15 mins. The heat transfers from the top of the flange to the entire flange. No more winter cold flanges lol

  • has an app to control the pump motors ... allows you to set session time & shuts off when done, heated flange timer & ability to adjust temperature, suction level (up to 7), the speed/cycle (fast, medium, slow), has a timer to see how much longer til the end of the session, shows battery Life, can choose Rythmn (cycle) session, pause button, stop button, sync ability

  • preprogrammed sessions (aka Rythmns/cycles) ... has 4 different suctioning & cycles that mimick different ways of nursing - Max, Standard, Gentle, Natural. The Gentle setting is VERY gentle. Was the only pump I could use when I bruised my breast near my nipple to be able to keep pumping.

  • has separate pump motors for each breast & can customize each one to a different preprogrammed session ... can customize to what each breast responds to best

  • can sync both pump motors to use the same settings (level, cycle/speed, timers, heat). It won't sync them to go at the same time as if it was one motor

  • the pump motor remembers the last setting you had, so if you don't have your phone handy you can just turn the pump on with the buttons on the pump motor

  • easy to clean ... only 4 things to clean on each side

  • comes with a set of different flange insert sizes ... 21mm, 19mm, 17mm ... and the flange itself is 24mm. They do offer a 27mm flange.

  • works with other flange inserts available on the market

  • the pump motor is pretty powerful, not BabyBuddha powerful, but still up there

  • though it's relatively new on the market and not well know, it's definitely an alternative to Momcozy as the pump motor is comparable to it

  • battery life ... takes about 1-2 hours to fully charge from one bar ... on one bar you can still get a 20 minute session without using the heat. I can get 6-8 sessions in (a whole day) before it needs to be recharged. Little green lights flash while it's charging and go solid when it's done.

  • can control the heat, suction, cycle with buttons on the pump motor

  • lights on the pump motor aren't too bright and turn off automatically within 30 seconds or so

  • comes with a cool little drawstring bag. Their S1 Pro comes with a case that also allows you to recharge the pump motors on the go while they're in the case.

  • the price for this one reflects the heated flange. Their E10 pump price is less than Momcozy M5, which doesn't have the heated flange.

  • pretty lightweight & easy to get on and off

  • doesn't need a really tight bra to hold it in place tight against your skin like others on the market to keep the suction

  • the suctioning briefly stops/skips every once in a while throughout the entire session, as a suckler would when they swallow

  • you can pause the pump motor by the power button on it or through the app

  • the pump motor isn't too loud. Can't hear it when other things are on around you. Wearing layers & blankets helps muffle the sound too. I can wear a t-shirt and a sweater and you can't hear it unless you're standing right beside me

  • the size & shape ... I'm 42DD and it just makes me look a size larger. I can wear a loose shirt and/or a sweater and not one can tell. It's rounded like an actual breast. My husband jokes that I have bullet proof breasts when I wear them lol

  • bonuses ... comes with flange covers, can stand upright, and has easy pour spout, comes with extra duckbills, and replacement parts aren't too expensive for being as well made as they are.

THINGS I DON'T CARE FOR ...

  • the app is the only way to customize the settings ... from what I can see, though I haven't really played around with the buttons on the pump motor itself as I find the app easier to use

  • has only those preprogrammed sessions, is not customizable. Though they do update the app, which updates the pump motor too, so they might offer that in the future

  • the flange inserts it comes with have little holes (no idea why they have them), not great if your nipples really move down the flange funnel beyond them (like those with elasticity)

  • no way of knowing how much charge is left without the app, though the pump motor will flash red when you turn it on to let you know it needs to be charged

  • the silicone material of the flange itself is a little textured, but would only notice that if your using the flange and not any flange inserts. Those with sensitive skin might find it as irritating as I did when I tried it out.

Thoughts & Tips ...

  • I don't know how well the seal is as am not making enough from pumping to collect in the collection cup yet.

  • I was having problems with standard inserts (I got from Amazon) both being uncomfortable & cutting into my skin and little

  • my skin is sensitive to things touching it. I trimmed a Pumpables Liquid Flange to be a cushion/insert, which has worked awesomely.

  • I found an insulted lunch container that I keep these in. I have them set up so I know which is left and which is right because I have each breast set at different suction levels.

  • I have noticed that one pump motor is a little louder than the other, but still both relatively quite. Remember they will sound louder to you because you're wearing them. My husband has often not noticed I'm pumping with them.

Overall, I would recommend this wearable pump. The pros definitely outweigh the cons in my opinion. And the price won't break the bank.
