Hi everyone!
I’m a 23F using a throwaway account to share updates on my lactation journey, so my friends and family don’t see this. I hope this helps other women interested in learning or relating to the process.
I’m attempting to induce lactation without medication, and I don’t have children. I work a 9-5 job and can’t pump at work, so my plan is to stimulate my breasts every 2-3 hours for 20 minutes whenever I can. That said, I’m not stressing about hitting every session—some days I might manage only 1-2 sessions, while others I might get 8-10. This is more of an experiment to see if lactation is possible with such a schedule.
Here’s where I’m at so far:
A few weeks ago, I used a TENS unit for a week, doing 10 sessions a day (every 2 hours for 20 minutes). During that time, my left breast became more sensitive, with larger veins appearing. I also noticed a deep "stimulation" feeling inside when I used pumps or hand-expressed. My right breast didn’t have much change, though both felt slightly firmer and heavier.
I stopped for a while and restarted on the 20th or 21st of this month. My left breast quickly regained that internal stimulation and visible veins, but my right side still feels unchanged. My nipples, especially on the left, are much more sensitive now and get harder during massages. They’ve also grown slightly larger (they used to be very small).
I haven’t noticed any milk drops yet, but this is where I am today. I’m debating whether to post weekly updates, but I hope this journey helps others learn or relate. Fingers crossed I can make progress and start lactating!
