I don't know why it didn't dawn on me to use my new Pumpables Liquid Flanges with my Spectra S1 when I first got them about a month ago .... I had tried the freemie pump with them, even bought the Pumpables Genie pump thinking it might be better. Got something at first but then results went dry. Switched to using my Eufy wearable, but results even went dry after the first day. This is despite the fact that my husband's suckling sessions always produces something - tastes switch between watered-down coconut milk or watered-down milk, amount is more of a taste than a flow.

Yesterday I grabbed a Spectra flange kit to try my Spectra S1, after reading a post here. It helped calm my elastic, temperamental nipple but still dry - no beads, drops, nada.

During my first morning pumping today I was reading through old posts and came across someone mentioning they were waiting for their Pumpables Liquid Flange kit to arrive to use with their Spectra pump. Light bulb went on in my head ... I have those Flanges! Why haven't I tried them with my Spectra?! ... so, after I finished pumping, I went and got setup for my next pumping with the liquid flanges.

I read that using your nipple size (or as close to) works best with these flanges. So I used the 17mm on both sides. I started on suction level 2 on cycle 38 to get a feel for them with this pump. Much more comfortable than the hard flanges and even my temperamental righty was still behaving - this is my guage to how well a flange works lol I was seeing some slight compression at the base of my nipple on my areola - which is what you get with these - from both sides. After a few mins I increased the suction by a few levels to see how it would feel.

THAT increase of suction level was the game changer for me. It gave me a sensation I get from only suckling, never ever from a pump.

The suction feeling moved from off the nipple to lower down at my nipple base on my areola, the exact place I feel my husband suckling. Even though I was seeing my nipple being sucked in by the flange, I was barely feeling it on the nipple at all. The feeling was all concentrated below my nipple. I could close my eyes and it would almost feel like he was at my breast instead. ... this sensation stayed the same when I switched between cycle levels but keeping suction level at the same. Which tells me the suction level makes all the difference with using these flanges with this pump.

And the results weren't dry! Was greeted by large beads from 2-3 duct openings on both nipples!
