Since my husband started suckling on a regular basis, my nipples tend to stay hard most of the time. And with raynauds it makes them hurt. However, even with a proper latch, they tend to go hard even in mid suckling, which makes suckling impossible for him. My nipples are normally large in size, but they can double, sometimes triple in size when they get really hard to the point they hurt.

When he latches he gets the nipple far back enough so that when he suckles I don't feel him on the nipple, and he compresses my areola area - about an inch or two behind the nipple, from where he's shown me. By doing this he says he tastes something after a few mins, and afterwards my breasts don't feel as tight, but "deflated". He's also in a relaxed position so he's resting his head all the time.

Anyone else experience this during suckling? Anything he can try while suckling to keep the nipple soft enough to suckle? Just looking for advice and suggestions.
